WELCOME TO THE DOCKSIDE INN

If you like affordable and clean accommodations with a relaxing pool, friendly surroundings and ample complimentary parking, you’ll find the Dockside Inn your perfect “Home away from home”. Conveniently located in the heart of historical downtown Cape Coral, near Whitney Education Group, we are also just across the bridge from Ft. Myers. It is just minutes to the fabulous beaches of Ft. Myers, Sanibel, and Captiva Islands. It is 10 miles from South West Florida International Airport, just minutes off of Interstate 75 and approximately 2 hours away from Ft. Lauderdale/Miami and Orlando. We are AAA approved.

Each of our units are tastefully decorated with a hint of home in them overlooking the Rainbow Canal. They have two double beds or a king bed in the bedroom with a pull out sofa bed in the separate living area. There is remote controlled Satellite Television with over 225 channels, a clock radio, and direct-dial telephones with complimentary local and toll free calls with voicemail. The kitchen has a refrigerator, range, microwave, toaster as well as cooking and eating utensils for four. Each room has their own individual heat and A/C controlled system. Complimentary Wi-Fi is available throughout The Dockside Inn.

There is a laundry room available for the guest to use and should you need to receive or send a fax or make copies, the office would be able to assist you with that. And for those who have four legged family members traveling with them, they are more than welcome to join us for a nominal fee and there is even a designated area for their personal needs. Be sure to visit the Cape Dog Bakery when in town for those special treats. So you don't miss your gym while you are away from home, the Dockside Inn will provide complimentary use of Health & Strength Gym while staying at The Dockside Inn (See front desk for details).

Enjoy the warm and relaxing weather of Florida by the swimming pool where you can work on the fabulous tan that you have always wanted. The pool is even heated at a toasty 86 degrees during the winter months for your pleasure and there are always ample chairs and lounges available. If you wish to get sand between your toes, there are vast beaches for sunning and shelling just minutes from the Dockside Inn.

The Dockside Inn is located on Rainbow Canal which is minutes from the Caloosahatchee River and then a short sail to the wondrous Gulf of Mexico. Leave right from your own back yard! Bring your own boat or rent one in Cape Coral and dock it here during your stay. We also have kayaks that are available for rent directly from the dock area brought to you from Back Water Outfitters. Dock space is limited, so please confirm space availability and rates when making reservations. Also available at the boat dock area are gas grills for the use of the guests to cook up their catch of the day from the canal or prepare your own feast of hot dogs and hamburgers. You can even just bring a picnic basket to enjoy under the palm trees swaying in the Florida breeze.

Individual Ratings and Reviews

"A very good place to stay. Inexpensive, nice pool, nice patio area in back, etc."
The Dockside Inn is a very small hotel (only 14 rooms in all). I prefer smaller hotels because you are actually able to use the pool without having to swim through a crowd of people. The pool itself, and the entire pool area was very clean. We used it almost every day. It was very quiet at the hotel, with the lone exception of the incessant traffic noise along Del Prado blvd (even at night). There is a very nice area in the back of hotel: dock, water view, and patio area. The only other thing I did not like about the hotel (other than the traffic noise) was that the room was not cleaned the entire week we stayed (March 1 - 8). They also did not change out the towels (unless we requested it). I guess this isn’t really that bad, I am just used to clean sheets and towels every day at other hotels I’ve stayed at over the years. All-in-all, I would say that the Dockside Inn is a great place to stay. It was very comfortable there, fairly quiet, not too many guests, and there was plenty to do in the immediate vicinity. Loved the pool!

"Traveler's tip on dining"
The best place I went to was "Leaping Lizards", located just after the bridge on Cape Coral Parkway. Awesome food, good service, eat inside or outside, live bands some nights, and always a lot of people there. I also liked "Applebee’s" and "Hooters" on Del Prado. Also, many Italian restaurants and good pizza places in Cape Coral. There were many other good places in Punta Gorda and Port Charlotte (between 25 and 35 miles from hotel).

"Nice Place to Visit"
The rooms were clean and comfortable. I liked the fact that it is a small motel. The dock in the back is wonderfully relaxing. I will be staying there next trip.

"Dockside hit"
This hotel was extremely clean and well run. The grandkids especially liked chasing the geicos!! The dock on the channel was a delight - both during the day when you could catch a cool breeze and in the evening when it was decoratively lit. I enjoyed the fact that it was VERY pet friendly.

"Well worth the money"
It’s basic, but it’s clean. Well worth the savings. The rooms have a full fridge, stove, and sink. Beds are comfortable. Nice dock in back on the water to read and relax. If you are looking for 4 or 5 stars, this isn’t it. If you are looking to save money and not sleep with bugs, this is the place for you. I had two rooms and not one bug. Place was nice and clean.

"Very Clean..... Nice Dog"
Nice middle aged people who own the motel. Very clean and quiet. Furniture is from the 70’s and the rooms are large. The nice deck behind the motel is lite up with small lights at night. Would bring my family.

"Bit of a designer’s nightmare (lol) but clean and comfortable..."
The room, decor, and furniture has seen better days but, overall, was clean and comfortable. The office and cleaning personnel were great. The view of the canal, and the big windows to let the air in was a "breath of fresh air" to a northerner who just came from the frozen tundra. Having the a kitchen and living room made it feel more like a cottage than a hotel room. Even with the pool right outside the windo, the place was peaceful and restful. If you are looking for luxury and an elegant decor go else where. If you are looking for clean, comfortable and a bit eclectic this is your place...

"Cozy"
This is a great place for a family to stay. The owners are super nice and helpful. The only down side is that the pool and laundry service close down early, but the cleanliness and convience of the inn make up for it! I would def. stay here again!!

"Clean but tired"
This motel has some special ammenities - location on the canal, docks, pets allowed, pool, kitchenettes. The appliances and bath are well worn, but everything was clean. Wireless internet would have been a nice complement to the satellite TV. We would stay there again.
